O2 online marketing training

O2 came to us with a desire and a need to raise their online knowledge and techniques to a whole new level, so we decided to help them by initially holding stakeholder interviews in groups to understand where the learning gaps were and what tangible outcomes O2 wanted to achieve from this process.

Translated.

As a result we were commissioned to design and deliver an entirely bespoke one-day online marketing module for the excellent O2 Marketing Academy; a wonderful resource that keeps O2’s marketers happy by continually teaching them about the cutting-edge of marketing, including topics such as how Google works; what are mashups and how to use them; how to build successful online social networks and cultivate clusters of communities online. The programme has been developed with a strong emphasis on practical exercises, intended to anchor and embed new wisdom and culture within the O2 marketers as much as possible by using clever techniques about how to integrate social media into the marketing mix.

Created.

This module has been trialled and adapted to suit O2 during several pilots. It is now delivered to over 100 O2 marketers with dizzyingly high levels of positive feedback and more importantly, a trickle of ongoing feedback from people back in their day jobs saying things like “your online marketing course has started to bear some fruits!”

Delivered.

Clearly O2 isn’t investing in this purely for fun (although it is a great, enjoyable, idea-fizzy day) - this is about competitive advantage and the future - so we can’t tell you much more about the stuff we teach, but you can probably guess that it is not the web equivalent of ‘finance for non-finance managers’…it’s a bit edgier and hotter than that.

The first year’s success is now being further developed to create even closer ties between the training room and the marketer’s working day.
